Clear Cut

March 16, 2016

It's a war zone here. Every time I come back it's worse. Ash trees are abundant in Rattray marsh, or they use to be. The Emerald Ash borer has invaded and is devastating the area.. Cut trees stack up like fallen soldiers, mounds of sawdust piled everywhere. Once familiar paths that were lined with heavy forest are now open swatches of land dotted by small white cylinders coddling newly planted seedlings.

Trees for another generation.
