Highway 12 South

March 11, 2016

It runs straight as an arrow down the Outerbanks for miles dividing this thin, long sand bar in two. Pamlico sound lapping at it shores from the west and the Atlantic ocean carving up it’s shoreline to the east.

There’s sand, lots of sand. Don’t think about pulling off this narrow 2 laner unless you’ve got big tires and wheel wells.

It’s windy here, especially in the spring and fall and that brings the kiters and windsurfers and that brings me – for the last 20 years.
